Buzzing About Our New Basement
We have recently completed a full basement dig, and fit-out, with Advantage Basement and we are over the moon with the result. It has totally changed the way our house feels and flows on a daily basis. We created a very large playroom, tv and chill out area, utility room, storage room, guest room and bathroom complete with sauna :) We used the space in the front lightwell to make a children’s climbing wall, have designed a ‘secret’ cupboard that holds a ping pong table, and installed a very cool looking wine cellar! It has transformed the way my children play, our guests have somewhere lovely to sleep when they stay with us, given me a gorgeous utility room (I NEVER thought I would get excited about doing laundry) and has opened up our whole house so that we all have more space, light, and calm in our household.
The whole process with Advantage has been incredible, from start to finish. From the very first impressions when they arrived exactly on time, that continued throughout the whole dig, with every single member of the teams arriving on time or earlier to start work each day. We talked about what we imagined and hoped for in our basment, and were then guided through the architectural designs, making changes as we needed. One of the things I loved about Advantge from a design point, was their ability to suggest really clever ideas or adjustments as and when we needed. From suggestions on the height of ceilings, clever cupboard designs, ideas for increasing light potential down there, I always felt that they could solve anything!
Their dig out and fit out teams worked so hard each day, were really lovely and friendly, kept everything as clean as possible and the streets so tidy that even neighbours commented on their professionalism. As we were living in the house throughout the whole dig, my boys and I developed a great relationship with all of them, despite them being completely separate down below us each day.
My husband and I initially chose Advantage Basements over over other basement companies after visiting a couple of other houses where they had done the work. The 3 women I spoke to had all said the same thing- that throughout the whole process, they really couldn’t fault them in any way! That they had been very hands-on with great ideas, easy to get hold of and quick to respond to any questions, always on time, trustworthy, had great teams of builders, and that there had been no delays or big issues. That is pretty rare to hear in any building project...
We are very grateful to David Reeves, Steve, David W, and Davide for everything. And to our wonderful foremen Florin and Lubo and their hardworking teams. I do go round buzzing about our new basement, and buzzing about Advantage to people who are thinking about doing a basement, and want advice. Their impeccably professional, friendly, and high quality service, I believe, is a step above the rest.
